YES, it was Sue Kelley! Thank you for jogging my memory at this late hour. She gave the 'warm up' speech and introduced Rick to the "crowd". He then gave a rousing "I'm gonna fight for you... we're gonna win!" speech in front of his giant decorated campaign bus. I swear there were only TEN of us there in deserted Poughkeepsie. Besides us volunteers, there were a couple of homeless people and some kids passing through the area on bicycles. I still have the photos of this "rally" around here somewhere.
My husband and I overheard Kelley and the other "officials" (don't know who they were) laughing nervously as Rick's bus pulled away "Not bad for a last-minute appearance, I guess." "Did you know he was coming? No? I didn't either... nobody told me." It was SO pathetic...
