Would the selective reporting of credentials for "experts" qualify as a separate technique? Things like the recent study on whether unborn babies feel pain - where the authors of the study were long-time abortion rights activists, besides having academic credentials, but the academic creds were the only ones reported.

Well the technique ,#7. Unproven "Facts", was meant as a catch-all for anything using facts, experts, or "authoritative sources" of any kind.
I've been amazed and delighted at all the other lists of techniques that people have shared here. It's good to know that if any of us gets hit by a bus, the others will work things out one way or another.
With all these minds focusing on this problem I think the exciting solution to it all will the be the dialog about it, rather than any single "complete" list.
