Time to add a few hundred rounds to the stash.

My sentiments exactly.

Question: how long can ammo be stored in a clip (e.g. 45 or .227) before the spring in said clip suffers distortion damage leading to jamming?

Muslims do not want anyone to have a mind of their own or to think for themselves. They want to do the thinking.

It has been said by others that it is not the compression but the cycling that is bad on springs. Load them and keep them loaded and they should work fine.

I have heard that loading M16 magazines 2 short got started when a certain maker's type hit military use, where the spring would sometimes lock together when loaded full. That was corrected but the myth continues.

Me? Most of my military rifles are stripper clips or M1 clips. The magazines I keep empty. I figure I would have plenty of time to load them and it would give the family something to do.
