BTW, John Wayne Airport, located in another county (Orange), is NOT part of LAX, which is situated out by a beach city, Santa Monica, a part of Los Angeles County.

Officially LAX is in Inglewood, but it sits on the coast between Marina Del Rey and El Segundo.

John Wayne Airport is over 40 miles to the south.

I'm aware of that, having lived in So. California for about 30 years; however, I assumed the poster was unfamiliar with the names and towns of the area, and believed she might have heard of Santa Monica, a beach located approximately 13 miles from LAX.
