This is something I noted during the Clinton years, because it drove me crazy. They must have had some genius product placement expert working in the Clinton White House.

Hillary Clinton was the ONLY human being to ever appear on the cover of House Beautiful. Did you know that?

Martha Stewart (until the President had to admit lying to the Grand Jury) was going to do an entire feature on Clinton's birthday party she threw. (That was when I cancelled my charter subscription to her magazine.)

You couldn't open ONE magazine without seeing that guy, whether it was People, National Enquirer, or Tiger Beat.

I was convinced they had an ad genius at work when I opened an antique price guide and under "cast iron banks" (remember this was about antiques) there was a photo of a modern BILL CLINTON PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE bank!!! I about had a stroke.

The President has done some of this, granting interviews to Runner's World, for example. However, it isn't consistent and it isn't widespread enough.

All true, Miss M, but this week x41 is on the cover of GLOBE, with worries about his depression drug problem!!!

I almost considered buying it for my archives.

Gotta give the guy credit....he had the ability to take any story, anytime, about anything, and make it about him!

But you know, hollywood and the msm play up their heroes every chance they get. I was a dem when JFK was assassinated & was heartbroken for Jackie....then Bobby's murder and the feelings intensified. But over the years, all the lies about the Bay of Pigs, Viet Nam, the lies about their being devout catholics while condoning adultery and the drug taking put a realistic tarnish on the legend. But we still have continual glory stories about the Kennedys, Jackie, and all things Camelot showing up on a regular basis.

I think that a lot of the reason that the Clinton's got so much publicity, other than just the normal amount for a POTUS and wife...is because two of their best friends were TV show producers...

I can't remember their names, but they were from Arkansas...and I think they are the ones that pushed the publicity from the Hollywood and New York set..
