My daughter also took this medication. All the necessary papers were signed and the risk was known. If someone is so stupid as to ignore the risk then the blame is on them, not the doctors who warned them. No, it shouldn't be taken off the market because of stupid people.

I reject this kind of logic. For one thing this is not a medication, it was a birth control. So that invalidates the rest of your logical basis.

Whether a risk is acknowledged or not does not remove the possibility of of harm or death from the risk, We (as the public) are inured to warnings by now, therefore a conclusion of some kind of stupidity is a non-sequitur in this case.

No matter.. it is a tragedy for the young woman, the family, and maybe the young man involved too.
