The drug companies did not support any of the research--public health arms of the countries' did. Infants die--they always have. Sometimes they die after receiving an immunization--millions have the immunization and do just fine. That's why it has to be studied scientifically with a control group. In the abstract below, the authors are referring to the multiple studies that I had mentioned when they say "consistently negative:"

Aetiology of autism: findings and questions.

BACKGROUND: Although there is good evidence that autism is a multifactorial disorder, an adequate understanding of the genetic and non-genetic causes has yet to be achieved. METHODS: Empirical research findings and conceptual reviews are reviewed with respect to evidence on possible causal influences. RESULTS: Much the strongest evidence concerns the importance of susceptibility genes, but such genes have yet to be identified. Specific somatic conditions (such as tuberous sclerosis and the fragile X anomaly) account for a small proportion of cases. Over recent decades there has been a major rise in the rate of diagnosed autism. The main explanation for this rise is to be found in better ascertainment and a broadening of the diagnostic concept. Nevertheless, some degree of true rise cannot be firmly excluded. However, the epidemiological evidence on the main hypothesized environmental explanation, namely the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, is consistently negative. CONCLUSION: Progress on the elucidation of the causes of autism will be crucially dependent on the combination of epidemiology with more basic science laboratory studies.
Perhaps it is just a matter of time before there is a study that suggests/proves the links that have been verififed by the testimony of thousands of families.
THere is something out there called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program or something to that effect that compensates families of children injured or killed by vaccines. So children obviously are being killed and injured by vaccines.

Autism is just one of purported damaging effects of vaccination. The NVIC website is loaded with information about injuries and deaths related to vaccines. It discusses mental retardation, immune disorders (such as allergies to substances), ADHD, brain swelling.

"In their book, Coulter and Fisher described numerous case reports in more than 50 years of medical literature and in new case studies they presented of children, who had been developing normally (and in many cases were of above average intelligence), and then received a DPT shot (often simultaneously with live oral polio vaccine) who then exhibited symptoms of brain inflammation, including high fever, extreme drowsiness, vomiting, high pitched screaming, seizures, and alterations of consciousness. Many of these children were subsequently diagnosed as mentally retarded, epileptic, learning disabled, hyperactive, or autistic.
In a good number of cases, the children who had reacted neurologically to DPT were allergic, particularly to milk, or had been vaccinated while they were sick with a coinciding viral or bacterial infection. In addition to neurological damage, many were also left with chronic gastrointestinal dysfunction and severe allergies, as well as autoimmune disorders such as asthma. The personal or family history of autoimmune disorders appeared to outweigh a history of neurological disorders in terms of being a high risk factor for reacting to DPT, although a history of convulsions in the family was also a high risk factor."
