Murtha announces funding for initiatives

For education and discussion only. Not for commercial use.

U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Johnstown) has announced that the House of Representatives and the Senate last week passed legislation that includes funding for important road improvements and other transit projects, as well as community initiatives, in Fayette, Greene and Washington counties.

The bill is awaiting the president's signature.

Included in the fiscal year 2006 Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, and Judiciary spending bill are the following projects:

The improvements, along with complementary infrastructure investments in the Alta Vista Business Park, are expected to support growth in this priority development area, $500,000

In addition, the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority, which serves portions of Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties, will receive $1.5 million for bus replacements and to acquire a bus maintenance facility that will both save rental costs and result in more-competitive proposals from transit-service contractors who no longer will need to provide garage space.

Bush should veto. Anything that helps Murtha, screw it. Get the veto pen out.

WA Gov. Gregoire says that Congress needs to come up with a comprehensive energy policy...

Hmmmmmmmm--THEY DID---and it took 5 years...and NOW the dems and Rinos have gutted it...taken out ANWR and offshore drilling....so why bother?

Although they differ in motivation, the leadership of BOTH major parties remain unified in their quest to drive-up energy costs in the US and oppress the American people.

I have a recurring dream that one day, before a joint session of Congress, the Sergeant-at-Arms will break with tradition and make a direct appeal to the American People for sanity, common sense and term limits:

Well I don't know why I came here tonight,
I got the feeling that something ain't right,
I'm so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I'm wondering how I'll get down the stairs,
Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you.

He should veto it, and state that it does not adequately address the green initiatives needed in the 21st century.

What goes around comes around.

What are the motivations of the Democrat and Republican parties in your opinion in driving up energy costs in the US?

GOP = enhanced Energy Company profits
Rats = Energy is evil and must be priced out of the marketplace.

Well, lets see. He gets his butt in a crack over his rush to surrender and then proposes a bunch of pork to get back in the good graces of the voters. Gotta be a Lib.....

Perfect song lyrics.....I wish your dream would come true...

Mark Levin was on rant a week or so ago...and was screaming for the House and Senate to be wiped out...and start all over...

I think that is SO true....we need some people that aren't in jobs that they know, no matter what he/she does they will keep their seats...
