The indians only managed to kill about a third of the Europeans, and drug off remaining women and children, leaving an impression that even more had been killed. This is bound to have an effect on relations for a long time. Indian aggression against European settlers is never discussed. Ever. I've never heard of the attack you describe.

If you're ever in the Jamestown area, there is a place called Carter's Grove Mansion. Off in the back is an area where the Martin's Hundred settlement was. I just happened onto it.
