One reason I went for this one because it had fuel injection. I live at 7500' and have had some hideous experiences with carbs on bikes under 1000cc.

You are absolutely correct on the no uncool bikes but uncool bikers part.
I have a couple of guys who come in from Colorado every year and I have to rejet their carbs while they are here so they don't barf all over the place when they give it a twist.
