You are not misreading this: the 'rats have more than 2 to 1 dollars for their Senate campaign.

The weak kneed Republicans in the Senate have really screwed themselves over. I know I've thrown nearly every "Senate fundraising" piece of junk mail away...Elizabeth Dole's pleadings are all well and good, but if the Republicans in the Senate are going to bash our President and our troops and play kissy-face with the 'rats, then I'm not interested in giving them my money.

Here is a better formatted version of the same info:

FUNDRAISING UPDATE [Byron York]

The latest from PoliticalMoneyLine shows Republicans with leads in nearly all categories. But in some cases, the margins are not as big as they used to be, and in the case of the Senate fundraising race, the numbers show that top Democratic fundraiser Charles Schumer is pursuing contributions with the same energy that he pursues TV cameras, which is not good news for the GOP.

Receipts 10/1/05 to 10/31/05:

Republican Natl Cmte $7,576,417
Democratic Natl Cmte $5,224,453

National Republican Congressional Cmte $4,210,410
Democratic Congressional Campaign Cmte $1,582,746

National Republican Senatorial Campaign Cmte $2,350,853
National Democratic Senatorial Campaign Cmte $3,030,580

Cash on hand 10/31/05:

RNC $34,391,493
DNC $ 6,100,267

NRCC $19,073,987
DCCC $10,676,909 (also $2,266,667 in debts)

RSCC $ 9,127,833
DSCC $20,588,392

But you're ignoring all the good the Republicans in the Senate have done. Moreover, if you don't give, you're just letting the Democrats win and then things will be much worse.

Or...at least that's what I've been told.

Elizabeth Dole strikes me as having been chosen as someone who will not offend any constituency. But she also strikes me as someone who lacks fire in the belly and who is unlikely to fire up the base. What it reminds me of, is kind of like raising funds to enlarge the dining room at the country club. People may give, but they don't exactly feel inspired.

I don't like the jelly spined Republicans any more than you do but it is either us or them. I'd rather get a very nasty social disease than see another rat in office.

A lot of republicans have stopped giving any money to the RSCC. Some are giving to the RNC and other republican groups, some directly to candidates.

We hope that, given that all other Republican groups are doing better than their Dem counterparts, the senate campaign committee can get the message that we are pissed at them.

This is not a good trend for Republicans. And I feel the trend is happening because so many Republicans have been Democrat Lite.

As long as freepers and other conservatives are in denial and thinking that Republicans are handling things just dandy (which I get told every other day), then we're not calling our Senators and Representatives and demanding more action and better support for the administration.

Don't throw away those fundraiser form letters. Use the envelope to mail back your own form letter. Send them this...

Win the war.
Confirm the judges.
Cut the taxes.
Control the spending.

It is because many of them are not giveing to the DNC because of Howard Dean so they give to the congressional campaigns. Some of this money will probably go to the DNC instead of the other way around.

If the Republicans in the Senate were doing any better than a puddle of warm piss, they would be getting plenty of money. As it is, it is a hard, hard sell for the GOP to make a case to donate money to a flaccid bag full of feckless charlatans and fops.

Sure, there are a few good ones, but they are swimming upstream against a gaggle of fools in that back-slappin', chummy House of Lords which represents nobody but themselves!

Me too, I'll fund individual senators (for instance Kyl) and anyone else who is running who has a backbone. But I won't give one time to the RNC because they use my money to fund weakkneed senators who do us more harm than good.

Frist has been an absolute disgrace, Warner, McCain, Collins, Snowe, Chaffee and the rest of the RINOs have done serious damage to our president and to the war effort. If the RNC is smart, they will make sure that the local RNC doesn't throw marbles under the feet of challangers to the RINOS this year or they will lose the senate.

This doesn't speak to the fact that alot of Republican Senators who are up in '06 are doing their own fundraising in their home states and not fiddling with these umbrella organizations. When you're on a roll, unless you're in a leadership role, why share? It will take a detailed look at each of the 30-something campaigns to know which end is up.
