The latest from PoliticalMoneyLine shows Republicans with leads in nearly all categories. But in some cases, the margins are not as big as they used to be, and in the case of the Senate fundraising race, the numbers show that top Democratic fundraiser Charles Schumer is pursuing contributions with the same energy that he pursues TV cameras, which is not good news for the GOP.
Receipts 10/1/05 to 10/31/05: Republican Natl Cmte $7,576,417 Democratic Natl Cmte $5,224,453
National Republican Congressional Cmte $4,210,410 Democratic Congressional Campaign Cmte $1,582,746
National Republican Senatorial Campaign Cmte $2,350,853 National Democratic Senatorial Campaign Cmte $3,030,580
Cash on hand 10/31/05:
RNC $34,391,493 DNC $ 6,100,267
NRCC $19,073,987 DCCC $10,676,909 (also $2,266,667 in debts)
RSCC $ 9,127,833 DSCC $20,588,392
To give Elizabeth Dole credit, at least she provided a safe Republican vote in a seat that might have gone to the Democrats if she hadn't run. And she's be no means the worst Republican in the Senate.
But she doesn't inspire me to contribute.
The RNC gives money to RINOs and supports RINOs over conservatives. A pox on them.
I heard similar assessments in '04 and '02.
I won't donate to either right now. Until they decide to stop pissing on their constituents who got them into office, they won't see much from me.
Frist has been an absolute disgrace, Warner, McCain, Collins, Snowe, Chaffee and the rest of the RINOs have done serious damage to our president and to the war effort. If the RNC is smart, they will make sure that the local RNC doesn't throw marbles under the feet of challangers to the RINOS this year or they will lose the senate.
They serve two great purposes. First, they scare RINO Republicans to death that they are going to run a Club for Growth sponsored Republican primary opponent against them, and thus "help" them to vote more conservative than they would otherwise.
Secondly, they run great, hard hitting ads in the general elections to support real Republicans that the RNC will never come close to airing.
Please cite your evidence.
Don't confuse the RNC with the NRSC.
Sure, there are a few good ones, but they are swimming upstream against a gaggle of fools in that back-slappin', chummy House of Lords which represents nobody but themselves!
lol! HILARIOUS...FUNNY BECAUSE IT IS TRUE!
Specter v. Toomey, Ganske v. Salier The RNC had their staffers on the ground helping Ganske pre-primary, the current race in R.I.. The RNC pays no attention to conservatives but people conintue to fork over money to them.
What evidence do you have the RNC had/has any involvement in those races?
What about Club for Growth?
This doesn't speak to the fact that alot of Republican Senators who are up in '06 are doing their own fundraising in their home states and not fiddling with these umbrella organizations. When you're on a roll, unless you're in a leadership role, why share? It will take a detailed look at each of the 30-something campaigns to know which end is up.
Ganske v. Salier The RNC had their staffers on the ground helping Ganske pre-primary. I was working for Salier and ran into guys at a Ganske table who were wearing "RNC" buttons and said that the RNC had sent them down here to help Ganske.
The RNC also refused to cut off party funds to candidates who favor partial birth abortion. There is NO control over where your money goes.
The RNC is less than worthless. Donate directly to candidates instead.
Are you sure you aren't confusing it with the NRSC or the NRCC? (I'm just asking for information, here...there's no need to be rude).
Doesn't make any difference to me. The RNC is financing a lot of the senate races and they need to tighten the screws on these guys. I'll still contribute, but as long as the senate is running wild, I'll only give to those I think will stay the course.
