Here's another from 2001. The list of frauds keeps growing! What drives these scientists to lie and deceive? According to this Japanese Scientist: "the Devil"

What I like, is the inference from the first article, that now someone else is going to have to re-write the story, ie, just make up a new one! Hilarious!

The extent to which Fujimura was able to deceive Japan's archaeological establishment underscores some unique weaknesses -- including a lack of peer review in Japanese academia and a nationalistic focus that might have played in Fujimura's favor.

Seems the problem was restricted to Japan due to its failure to provide peer review and its reticence in allowing outside scientists. This sounds more like creationist science than standard western science.

Even so, science has a long way to go for the number of frauds to equal just one creation 'scientist's frauds.
