INVASION USA: ARMED STANDOFF ON RIO GRANDE

Uniformed Mexicans with guns, bulldozer seize drug-bust truck from Border Patrol

U.S. Border Patrol agents were backed down this week by armed men, dressed in what appeared to be Mexican military uniforms and carrying military weapons, who seized a captured dump truck filled with marijuana from the U.S. agents and dragged it across the border into Mexico with a bulldozer.

The border incident occurred Thursday evening when Border Patrol agents attempted to pull over a dump truck on Interstate 10 in Hudspeth County, Texas. The driver fled from the agents, exiting the freeway and driving toward the Rio Grande which runs within 2 miles of the interstate in this portion of West Texas.

The driver abandoned the truck after it became stuck in the river bed, escaping into Mexico.

Agents called for reinforcement from the Texas state troopers and Hudspeth County sheriff and began unloading the haul – estimated to have been nearly 3 tons – when everything changed.

Officers "started to retrieve the bundles when the armed subjects appeared," said Agent Ramiro Cordero, Border Patrol spokesman.

According to Hudspeth County Chief Deputy Mike Doyal, the dump truck driver returned with armed men, some of whom drove "official looking vehicles with overhead lights." Some of those armed, Doyal told the El Paso Times, appeared to be Mexican soldiers in uniform with military weapons.

"It's a very serious incident," Doyal said. "We are very fortunate ... no one got hurt. Everyone had the presence of mind not to cause an international incident, or start shooting."

As WorldNetDaily has reported, there are widespread reports of U.S.-trained Mexican commandos, called the Zetas, making cross-border runs into U.S. territory in military-style vehicles, armed with automatic weapons.

The Zetas were trained as elite commandos by U.S. forces to combat the drug cartels, but they have switched sides and are working for the drug smugglers in the border area posing a special hazard to American law enforcement and Border Patrol agents, according to a U.S. Justice Department memo. Under the control of reputed drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the Zetas are conducting a bloody war for control of the entire southern border in an effort to secure a monopoly on drug-smuggling and people-smuggling routes.

As both sides faced off, a bulldozer appeared from the Mexico side of the river and was used by the armed men to pull the dump truck – and the two-thirds of the marijuana that had not yet been unloaded – into Mexico. The bulldozer, Doyal said, is believed to be used regularly to make makeshift crossings over the Rio Grande.

The "armed encounter with drug smugglers," as Cordero described it, is under investigation. No confirmation was made as to whether or not the "soldiers" belonged to the Mexican military.

"During the '04 campaign, George P spent his time in Mexico rounding up Republican votes from Americans living down there. The Mexicans loved him."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sure they love him. I won't soon forget what he said though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

http://vdare.com/malkin/bipartisan_betrayal.htm

Instead, the Associated Press reported this weekend that President Bush's nephew, George P. Bush, traveled to Mexico in search of overseas votes and condemned the federal policy of arming U.S. Border Patrol agents with plastic pellet guns. According to the AP:

"Speaking in a mix of English and sometimes-halting Spanish, George P. Bush said his uncle was not to blame for the gun policy, which has angered Mexicans. He instead blamed it on 'some local INS guy who's trying to be tough, act macho.'”

Bush went further in defaming the character of our Border Patrol agents and their supervisors: "If there has been American approval for this policy, that is reprehensible," George P. Bush said of the guns, essentially paintball projectiles filled with chile powder. "It's kind of barbarous.' Wouldn't do much good but will teach the banditoes they can't retreat back across the Border as an imaginary lineinwhich ONLY Americans must respect.

Thanks for the link. Interesting- there have been many stories, especially in Arizona of arabic writings being found in trash left by illegals and rumors of middle eastern men posing as mexicans. Our government has a tricky way to keep anyone from finding out if Al Queda are apprehended by BP. Anyone they catch who is not a citizen of Mexico is termed OTM. There is no way to get them to release any figures for illegals caught from terrorist countries. OTM can mean Central American, or South American, or any country. Of course it can also mean Al Queda.

If this sheriff really did apprehend a member of Al Queda, you can bet someone has already shut him up. There are many things that happen on the border that are not reported to the American people. There is a real effort to keep most citizens uninformed as to what really happens on the border.

I heard one of our Congressmen from Texas speak about this incident on Hannity this past Friday. What was even more disturbing was the info that he relayed about one of our sheriffs along the Rio Grande had to temporarily house an al Qaeda member that was captured by the federales along the border & handed over to our authorities.

I'm not surprised re post #2.....unfortunately, I do believe that what Culberson, and most Americans fear, may indeed happen:

"I'm concerned that one day I’m going to wake up to the news bulletins that there have been multiple massive truck bomb explosions in our major cities, set off by al-Qaida terrorists, and that we let them walk over the southern border while they pretended to be Hispanic immigrants."

Apparently, during a hearing before the House Science, State, Justice, Commerce Appropriations Subcommittee in March, Culberson asked FBI Director Robert Mueller Jr. "about SIAs entering the United States across the southern border." FBI Director Mueller testified, under oath,:

that '[t]he FBI has received reports that individuals from countries with known al-Qaida connections have attempted to enter the U.S. illegally using alien smuggling rings and assuming Hispanic appearances. An FBI investigation into these reports continues.'
BQ, you may remember me telling you, just last week I believe, that Middle Eastern ethnic groups CAN EASILY APPEAR AS HISPANIC to Americans, that includes our border patrol, law enforcement authorities, etc. I had also said that Italians with dark skin even appear to be hispanic to border patrol....I know this from personal experience, having witnessed this "confusion" with my Italian uncle and cousin when crossing the border back into California (YEARS ago).

Sheriff West, from the Rio Grande area, said:

according to information he was provided by Mexican authorities, it appears as though the suspect was monitoring border activity. He said communications found on him were in "code" to make it appear as though he were tracking migratory birds.

"He was part of al-Qaida," West said, adding, "The written communication that we were able to obtain was . . . in the nature of code words." He said the alleged operative was transferred from Mexico to Brewster County, which borders Hudspeth County, "in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service."

All of the above quotes are found within this article, posted on FR, Lawmaker: Terror war spilling across border , which I didn't even know about until your ping to this article, BQ.

the Bush family wants more immigration...not less.

Maybe they can throw some taxpayer money at this venture, then. Idiot Liberals Offer Illegal Aliens Boutique Sneakers.... The high-top sneakers [called "Brincos"] cost $215 at a San Diego boutique, but the designer is giving them away to migrants before they cross to this side of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Yep. Those of us in the know anticipate what is coming; the rest have their heads buried in the sand, saying "there hasn't been an attack since 9/11 on US soil, blah blah." (sad, and I hope I'm VERY wrong)

Texas governor hot over border security

Saying he is tired of waiting for the federal government to do its job, Texas Gov. Rick Perry unveiled what he called a comprehensive blueprint for border security, which includes the use of the Texas National Guard for training and for deployment in emergencies.

Why doesn't he? Could he be under orders from the Bush dynasty?

I wasn't necessarily bashing the Bush family. It was meant as a mostly serious question with a hint of sarcasm.

Since 1986, I worked in South Texas - up to a year ago, in fact. My work had me driving a lot of the roads, even taking me to the big ranches and driving along their roads that cut thru the mesquite flats, etc.

I would often see illegals in the distance - traveling in single file along senderos and fencelines. I was warned to watch for those illegals that sported backpacks - they were more than likely carrying drugs & weaponry.

I witnessed one event that woke me up. While traveling southward on US Hwy 77 - just south of Rivera & north of the border patrol checkpoint, in the northbound lane, I saw a commercial passenger bus (Valley Transit Company) pull over on the shoulder and I counted 5 illegals racing towards the waiting bus - they had run from a mott of mesquite trees.

I traveled south a couple of miles to the border patrol checkpoint station (Sarita checkpoint) and told the agents there. I know they took my report seriously, I saw them radio a message.

Later, at a family reunion, I told my cousin of the incident - he was a retired border patrol agent. He said he was not at all surprised about it. He told me of agents having found illegals in the back of U S POST Office trucks!
