Gas in Maine is now around 1.999 with 52 cents in tax included, Diesel is 2.839 with 56 cents in tax, Home Heating oil with no tax is 2.199 a gallon, how come? Why is home heating oil so much more than gas?

Heating oil is from roughly the same fraction of the barrel of crude as diesel. Gasoline is a different part of the crude oil.

Diesel and Heating oil are both in steady demand, the former to run trucks and trains, especially.

Gasoline demand has dropped some from people conserving fuel, cutting miles driven, etc., which just hasn't happened with the freight moving industry.
