I watched the proceedings this evening and Mr. Murtha read his resolution which contained a whole lot of whereases and talked about a horizon. The Party spin is to imply that he just wants to "cut and run". Retreat and surrender. That obfuscates the truth of the matter.

Murthas own words have been to say "Withdraw troops immediately" and "Immediate Withdraw".
He's been saying it for two days.
What planet are you on?

Look at it in the context of Bill Clinton's speech. I would cut off Clinton's pension for that bit of ......... He is indeed a POS.

Murtha the Mouth said, "Bring 'em out now!" The resolution said, "Bring 'em out now, yea or nay?" It doesn't get any more clear than that.

The only obfuscating going on here is the the cloud of ink you're squirting all over this thread to hide the Dems' shame and disgrace.

The DEM spin has been to point the finger at everyone else and accuse the Republicans of a cynical ploy, rhetoric, and hyperbole, yet the ones doing the hyperbole and rhetoric have been DEMS.
The DEMS have been doing sound bites for the past two days.
CNN YESTERDAY had both Kerry the Posuer and Murtha on spouting rhetoric and hyperbole.
And everythign they have said has been nothing but 'cut and run', 'we can't win', 'immediate withdraw'.

Murtha's bill is tantamount to playing both sides of the issue and appealing to both ends of the Democrat spectrum, from the kook-fringe on over to the moderate left. Problem for Murtha is, he can't have it both ways. His objective plays right into the hands of the terrorists, who would allow themselves to cool their heels for 6 months, then ramp up the violence on our way out, regardless of whether the Iraqi's are well-equipped and fully trained or not.
