For the record... Rep. John Murtha stated on the House floor tonight: "Our troops have become the enemy"

He means that the troops are the enemy in the eyes of the Iraqis. This is where he's wrong. They are the enemies of the insurgents and terrorists -- many of whom are not Iraqis, like Zarqawi.

Well, whatever he "meant"... I sure hope the GOP uses that quote to its full advantage, whether in context or not (they won't, though). You just KNOW how the RATs love to do that... and they get away with it.

The rats would, but we should not. We don't have to use his quotes out of context, they are so good IN context.

He said he forced the military to drag a soldier home who wanted to stay, just because his daddy wanted him home.

He said our troops "have become" the enemy, apparently forgetting the guys who died on the USS Cole.

He said our troops were the target of the "insurgents". But the terrorists are mostly killing Iraqis. A lot of our troops are dying in battles.

He said our troops had nothing left to offer, and the Iraqis wanted us out. But today, after the terrorists blew up a Mosque, our troops were able to quickly mobilise and come to the aid. They brought supplies and help. They guarded the area. They were welcomed by the Iraqis.

Our JOB is NOT over, Mr. Murtha. You are just plain wrong.

"Our troops have become the enemy"

Yup. That's the money quote, folks. Hammer it.

The RATS use this technique all of the time. It'll be nice to play hardball for awhile.
