He's wrong now, but he has been staunch many, any times in the past.

A staunch supporter of our troops? Than explain this why he voted NO for a troop pay raise but a yes vote for his own.

Here's an example of his support.

Those Freepers who are depicting Murtha as a traitor are misguided. Do some research on his history. He is an old school Democrat who has supported wars when there has been total commitment and sufficient force. He backed Panama and Gulf War 1; he was upset with Somalia and Bubba's Balkan mess. Again, I don't agree with him on Iraq; but to claim he is another Benedict Arnold is just nuts. He sincerely believes that withdrawing out of Iraq is in our best interests. If we disagree, argue on the merits; name calling is counterproductive.

Remember that Reagan pulled out of Lebanon. Agree or disagree with that; he's not Benedict Arnold for leaving instead of fighting Syria directly.

The dems have been called out, they are the party of cut and run.

Our Military men and Women are not victims,as the dems would have you believe,

"Their story is known to all of you. It is the story of the American man at arms. My estimate of him was formed on the battlefields many, many years ago, and has never changed. I regarded him then, as I regard him now, as one of the world's noblest figures; not only as one of the finest military characters, but also as one of the most stainless.

"His name and fame are the birthright of every American citizen. In his youth and strength, his love and loyalty, he gave all that mortality can give. He needs no eulogy from me, or from any other man. He has written his own history and written it in red on his enemy's breast."
