The Patriot Act is going to Sunset?

Yes, in December 2005.

I just began working at a small newspaper here. My boss, well, let's just say we would be on different sides of the aisle, were we in a legislative body, LOL.

Two weeks ago, he sent me a note about the Patriot Act, and I researched it and signed up to a website that would send me alerts when action was being taken on it.

Haven't heard one peep.

The Democrats tried to shout down Duncan Hunter every time he spoke. They screamed and yelloed like I've never heard before. They clapped when one of their own spoke.

The Chair had a difficult time maintaining order.

A vote will be taken on the Iraqi war resolution after recess; any time now.

I think there will be more debate, but am not certain.

Disappointed that the Republicans weren't screaming about the Patriot Act going into oblivion in December of this year.

This is the first I've heard that. Guess the Republicans were too busy deciding that further taxing oil companies (which will result in an increase in the cost of gas) is more important than actually doing something about the Patriot Act.
