If the final vote is that close, it would be a disaster for us.
The purpose of this vote is to show Murtha is in the minority and even most Dems oppose him.
If the Dems stand together and support his resolution, this will be a complete disaster for the Republicans.
the Dems tried to stop the vote so no one would know where they stand..now that they must vote, they're strategizing trying to figure out how they can vote to continue maintaining troops there, while continuing the blame Bush game while screaming for a withdrawal blaming the wording of the resolution..
Man those Dems make my head spin..good thing I have a beer or 6 here to counter balance it..:)
No, it won't. If the Dems don't vote against withdrawal then we can tag their entire PARTY as Michael Moore.
If most vote against, their base will hate them.
If it's mixed, we're the majority still on issue and the sizeable minority placates their base somewhat but still leaves a stench of white flag about their Party.
The only way it hurts is if we lose the vote, if so, all politicians go straight to hell and lose their next elections.
Any of these scenarios is a loss for Democrats. Only one for Republicans.
It will be political soooo-eeee-cide for House Dems from conservative districts to vote to pull out. Absolute sooooo--eeeee----cide.
