The recent rioting in Paris suburbs and elsewhere in Europe should not have surprised anyone. Europe's Muslim communities are powder kegs, brimming with an alienation born of both an assiduously inculcated antagonism toward infidel society and an infidel society whose integration policies - which should actually be called segregation policies - have perversely encouraged this ire. I first noticed the problem when I lived in Amsterdam in 1999. A visitor to that city might imagine that not one Muslim lived there. But to venture just a few blocks beyond the tourist-crowded streets was to learn otherwise. In my neighborhood, the sidewalks were crowded with hijab-clad women pushing baby carriages. There were as many signs in Arabic as in Dutch. Outside the "neighborhood center" waved a large Turkish flag.

We knew that at the outbreak of the WOT when many "American" Muslims were asked if they supported the WOT and they answered that their allegiance was to Islam, NOT to any nation.

They don't want to learn English; they play their native music; they honor their native holidays; they send BILLIONS "home" back to Mexico every year. They still consider "home" NOT the USA.
They don't want assimiliation but they want what the gringos have in the way of welfare, free education, affirmative action, the Democrat apple polishing and promises and the knowledge that Hispanic activists and the ACLU will always be on their side. Read THAT as free lawyering.

Please try to hold off on the standard lectures about immigrants and their wunnerfulness, unless you are willing to say the same garbage about French Muslims who don't want to assimilate either.

We denigrade the French for the same thing that's happening here. We have 11 million ILLEGALS plus all the LEGAL immigrants....many of whom do NOT want to assimilate.

There really is an obvious solution. If they don't want to integrate while enjoying the prosperity they find here, politely tell them to leave. Sometimes we ignore the obvious solutions.

Maybe we ought to send millions of our 'losers' out of the US to THEIR country. Have our losers squat in their cities, en masse, and make unreasonable demands, make their government pay for the support and well being of our social debris, insult the locals, refuse to assimilate...etc. Then maybe they will understand.

If you don't want to integrate, don't immigrate. It shouldn't be the job of your new country to adapt to you and your customs. Thats one of the things that bothers me so much about the latin american invasion we are undergoing. Many of them have no interest in learning english, and adopting our customs and want us to change our society around them. Ah well, at least they don't try to blow us up like the middle eastern immigrants in Europe do.

I don't know about the learning English part ... I'm under the impression that second generation Hispanics do speak English as well as Spanish. But, as far as music goes ... so what? I like their music. It sure beats gangsta' rap. And their native holidays ... once again, so what?

Good article which spells out very clearly what has been happening in Europe for the last 30 years. The enlightened european elite are sowing the seeds of their own destruction, and it is funny that they try to lecture us about how great asociety they have built.

The ironic thing about foreigners not wanting to integrate is that they came to the US because things are better here, yet they invariably seek to turn it into the country they came from.
