Almost in tears, the SP implied in his "press conference" Plame was undercover. If all this was true, why couldn't he make the case for the leak?
Indeed. And why does President Bush keep saying this investigation is serious? Neither side is clarifying the meaning of "covert," which boils down to "nobey has a clue that you have anything to do with the CIA - they think you're Mafia! (or similar)"
There was no illegal leak. Maybe politically embarrasing to admit a behind the scenes effort to discredit Wilson - but that leaves one to wonder "Why not attack Wilson frontally?"
