Do they actually believe all that stuff? I mean the aliens and all? I find it difficult to believe that so many seemingly otherwise normal people believe in something as outlandish as the Scientology alien story - Atomic bombs in volcanos etc. (if what I have read is indeed true..).

No more difficult than the miracles in the Bible, or a Mormon believing in a gold book, brought by angels, nor mooslimbs worshiping a stone that 'fell to earth like lightning'.
OTOH, the OTIII stuff strains my credulity quite a bit, as it doesn't fit with known geological and physical processes (and no dinosaurs 75 million years ago? What's with that??? I wanna see dinosaurs!)
