I bet Bush forgot he left the Earthquake Machine(R) on Airforce one.
Was probably fiddling with the dials when he flew over the affected area.

The quake hit at a depth of about 15 miles and was centered off the coast of Sanriku in northern Japan, 330 miles east of Tokyo, the USGS said.
The agency said a tsunami could reach Japan's Pacific coastlines between 7:10 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. (5:10 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST Monday) in Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima and Hokkaido, the agency said.

Prayers on the way. Let's hope that all their planning for such disasters can help save lives.

We have an exchange student from Taiwan living with us and when I told him about this quake/tsunami warning, he said something funny. He said, "They'll be fine. The Japanese are like ants. They all move very fast and they stick together (he put his hands together to show them all coming together in a big group). They are very efficient. They will be just fine. Don't worry." LOL I hope he's right.

Is this quake yet another preview of the predicted "Big One" which shall one day, devastate both Yokohama & Tokyo?
Waiting for the Big One: Tokyo's Grand Reconstruction Plan
From the link:
"It is a plan for a new city, predicated on the wiping out of the old. It assumes a 7.2 magnitude quake, that will destroy large parts of the city. The blueprint takes it more or less for granted that the city will be devastated. Though it is not clear who wrote the report itself, it is certain that Ishihara had a hand in it. And how well this critique meshes with his statements on the state of Tokyo . . ."
The Tokyo government plan allows for a 7.2 quake, but what if the "Big One" is over 7.5?
