When my girls were in thier terrible two's. We would make special trips to Denny's etc, to teach them how to behave in restraunts and in public generally. I will never forget when my oldest pulled a hissie fit on me at a denny's. I told my husband to go ahead and eat with our other daughter. I took her out of the restraunt screaming. We sat in the car, and I made her watch them eat. After about 10 minutes she decided she was hungery and would behave.

We went back in and she sat still, quiet, and ate her breakfast.

as we left the waitress and some customers thanked me and told her she was a good girl for behaving.

I never had a problem after these lessons, I could take my 5 year old to 4 star restraunts without a worry.

Absolutely, we did the same thing. Of course, I probably had a pretty low tolerance for things like screaming kids. It didn't take removing them from the restaurant before they got the idea.
