I had a part time job as a school bus driver in my early twenties. If the kids on the bus were unruly or not sitting and if they were being loud/screaming, etc, I would warn them once and if it didn't stop, I wouldn't care where I was in my route (I had the longest route in the school system), I would turn around, drive ALL the way back to school, park the bus where I picked them up, wait for them to be quiet and then start out again. It only took a couple of times for them to figure it out. I probably wouldn't do well as a teacher in public schools :)
Wow, that was excellent! I would hate to be a school bus driver, but you really seem to have come up with a method that would work.
susie
Actually you would be the kind of teacher public schools need but because of PC liberal bull, wouldn't be allowed to teach!
I received a call from school one day last year about such a situation. The driver had a problem with a few of the older kids and turned the bus around - school was notifying the parents of all the other children as to why the bus was running late.
I have no problem with that type of policy.
See, this explains perfectly why I am not a school bus driver. I'da slammed on brakes and sent the buggers flying.
I was a school bus driver for 1 year, (not enough money to make me do that again).
Had a 14 year old little b..... that was a pain in the assets. She started acting up one afternoon and refused to responed to my directions. I started turning the bus around to go back to school.
The other kids resolved the problem very quickly.
