Everyone knows in his general public behavior the President isn't a confrontational leader. He also isn't very good at staying on message. When you're POTUS, you've got to remain focused like a laserbeam. Especially when the loyal opposition starts trashing you with endless personal attacks. Bush/Cheney won reelection and placed the administration on cruise control. Its been downhill ever since. The President can regain his job approval by taking the issues and the Dems head on. The leftwingers aren't gonna just stop using the most vicious of rhetoric. Politics isn't a polite endeavor. The President has the Bully Pulpit. He should use it to his advantage. Bush can't let the leftwing define him anylonger. He needs to step up and speak out with a serious effort. The American like a good fight and they like it when their President fights for what he believes in.
I agree with every word you wrote.
There are freepers who are afraid to say anything bad about the president on the open forum because they get bashed, so I get gazillions of freepmails and e-mails wondering what happened to the president's feistyness.
His apparent unwillingness to take on the lies by the left has left a lot of us perplexed.
And then when we aren't HAPPY that the lies are permitted to stand, we get called trolls. LOL
This place is becoming an echo chamber and that is NOT a good thing.
Absolutely correct.
I think this was a good beginnning. Stop treating democrats as if they're rational-- they're NOT.
This was a great start to fighting back. Now I expect OTHER REPUBLICANS to stand up and speak just as loudly and even more forcefully (they can afford to) in this fight to take the issues back. It can be done easily. The public hasn't run across the line to the democrats side. They mostly have turned their backs on the Republicans and are standing on the line for the time being.
