I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, so let me say this - I want to know in August that my apples are new crop from New Zealand or old crap from Washington State - I want to know if the shrimp I am buying is from the Gulf(yum) or tasteless from Thailand - I want to know if my beef is corn fed from Nebraska or range raised from Argentina. Maybe they can come up with a grade of generic food for you all who only care about price and labeled food for those of us who care about quality.

Actually, I am a very picky SOB when it comes to my foodstuffs. I go to local markets for veggies (which I don't grow in my own garden), and to the mom & pop butcher shop for meat. I just don't care for the extra I am forced to pay if I want to purchase those same items at a retail chain store.
The regulation of every aspect of our lives needs to cease. People need to take responsibility for their own actions.
