One of the key points in her story was that she relied on a statement from a former commander who said the memos sounded authentic when he was read it over the phone. This was used to substantiate the story. After the story aired he came forward to say he objected to his words being used and after seeing the letter changed his earlier statement and said the letter was not authentic.
This and the fact that the letter came from a source that was very very bias against the President. These two items shows this story to be a complete unfair attack job against the President.
Of Course O’Reilly did not mention either points. He let her slide. He did not point the CBS investigate and the charges against her. He let her slide.
