Caved to an internet blog attack? O'Reilly didn't finish off his point--he started to ask her why she thought CBS took the blog attacks seriously, then she started off on a tangent and time started running out. Of course the reason CBS took it seriously was because the bloggers were RIGHT.
Put it another way--a bunch of left-wing blogs started this whole thing about the exit polls proving that last year's election was stolen. The mainstream press didn't go with it--because they knew the bloggers were wrong.

Her hidden assumptions are that blogs can make up any garbage they want, then will rave about it en masse, and that in turn can drive television network policy.
Anyone who has been around here for any time at all knows that garbage is quickly demonstrated to be garbage, that Freepers have only been mobilized when the case is convincing, and that networks are very difficult to influence even if all the facts are on our side.
She is used to working in an environment where her irrational beliefs rule.
I see a good future for her as a minister in a Gaia or Crystal Cult on a California beach.
There was very little content in this interview, but her arrogance and gross ignorance were demonstrated.
Mary, if you (or your agent) are reading this thread:
We don't care about your personal life, and we are not engaging in personal attacks. You were a professional who failed to do your job with integrity and objectivity. You deserved to be fired--and you owe the President and your Network and the American people an apology.
