re: conservatives much less republicans not turning out when so much was at stake, the question that remains to be answered is why indeed. aren't there like 5 of 5.5 million registered?

Maybe they were afraid of all the union thugs and rabid abortion liberals. It was safer to stay home. Those people can be dangerous when their religion is threatened.

The Republican party in this state is dysfunctional -- it works only in rare circumstances that happen to be just right. There is a lot of stupidity, a lot of selfishness, and a huge amount of laziness, not to mention cowardice.
An ugly picture, and tonight's disastrous results won't help.
