It never ceases to amaze me how there are states where you can follow election returns every five minutes-and where the Secretary of State actually has duties that the ordinary citizen can enumerate-and yet New Yorkers have to wait until the subsequent day to find out how many votes a particular candidate received, and even then most of the vote totals are incomplete.

Why are we spending so much money on the salaries of Albany lawmakers who don't seem to accomplish much of anything?

That shouldn't be too hard to figure out. "Adjustments" might be needed, and they take time.

I found that out when I visited NY's Sec of State site this evening.... fortunately WNBC has real-time returns (which should start updating any time now).
