only problem is, our national language is English -- therefore, black.
While staying with a relative in the hospital recently, I overheard a conversation of two women (who were black) visiting another patient, obviously a friend. My ears perked up when the patient (who was white) was talking about going somewhere in a not-so-good neighborhood and being approached by a black man who said "What's the matter, you never seen a black man before?" And she answered to him "I've seen plenty of black men in my life but this is the first n***** I've seen in awhile." Well I nearly fell out of my chair at that but the two black women thought it was hysterical and proceeded to join in with other similar stories. Call me confused; either it's okay to use this word or it isn't.
