No, Greer did have opposition from a very fine candidate, who was repudiated by the people of Pinellas and Pasco countiesl. I believe that the local people in both parties were strong cheerleaders for the "cause" of exterminating poor Terri.

TeddyR, Jan Govan WAS NOT REPUDIATED. For someone running for office for the very first time, he received 60,000 votes. And, rest assured, Govan's campaign team didn't cheat but we were asked to leave precincts which was illegal. That Deborah Clarke is a peachy election supervisor. IT was ILLEGAL for them to eject Govan supporters from polling places.

The St. Pete times also planted any story that Greer wanted them to to smear JAN GOVAN.

If GOVAN had won, Terri would be alive today. Greer would be picking his big toe in his condo.
