Only in Washington is a reduction in the amount of increased spending considered to be a cut. Get rid of mandated welfare spending and do zero based budgeting yearly. Never happen because of the pork.

"Never happen because of the pork."
Stop voting for anyone who votes for a bill with pork in it.

Only in Washington is a reduction in the amount of increased spending considered to be a cut. It's a bone, tossed out for the hungry among us.

I had to scroll down to see who would be the first to say it.
Just another shabby trick by our congresscritters. There's no reason to think they're serious about cutting spending.
It's kind of like expecting crackheads to just cut back on the crack a little.

Tom Delay cited the fact that the bloated transporation bill was a few million less than it could have been as example of GOP fiscal restraint. What a joke.
We've got Sen. Tom Coburn, and precious few other fiscal conservatives left in Washington. The Dems are really going to be able, amazingly, to move to the GOP's right in coming elections when it comes to controlling spending.
Never thought I'd see that day come.

I got an idea on saving $223M of pork - that stupid bridge to nowhere in Alaska that nobody wants. Except by the Alaskan senators, that is.
