Also don't tell me it's supply and demand. Oil companies have a monopoly on transporation fuel, period. There will always be someone who needs to purchase fuel, as long as that is the case, there will always be someone who will pay $4.00 a gallon.
Corporations exist for one reason: profits. Other so-called reasons the left thinks is true are excuses to avoid the basic reason to even have a corporation.
Ok. Let's try this the other way around. OTHER then your FEELING, what PROOF do you have to back up your accusation of gouging?
BTW, since my pension fund and 401K plan both have investments in Oil stocks, I am "Big Oil"
Companies are collections of investors, not some big evil club rich white guys belong to. They all ready pay HUGH taxes on their profits. The emotional wish to "punish" the oil companies for being Capitalist Enterprises is nonsense. How about this. How about we make the Campaign Funds of the Pols taxable? How about we impose a "Windfall profit" on the profits Holliweird Actors make? Pro Athletes? Sorry but there ARE other options. Gas is NOT a necessity.
Gas is not a necessity. You can alter your behavior. Drive a fuel efficient car, use other forms of transport. Move closer to your work. The idea that Gas is a "necessity" and thus you are entitled to it is NOT an argument Conservatives should be making. I am a Conservative because I want the Govt Limited as much as possible, NOT because I want the Govt to be limited ONLY in the things I DON'T want it to do
