(Dana Milbank wrote an article in the Washington Post where it is available with registration. The Hartford Courant has the same article, without registration.) It is amazing that serious newspapers can actually publish this sort of thing! It casts doubt on their objectivity! Perhaps a word or two to the Post is in order: letters@washpost.com

Great! Who will be the first Senator to ask "boxers or briefs"? This is what we've come to?

I actually thought it was pretty funny. But it was something I'd expect to see in a high school or college newspaper.

He looks scarily similar to my daughter's piano teacher.
He's about as nerdy as they come.

Although this is a trite article, it is very true. Alito is a total nerd, even by standards of dorky politicians.

Alito Fits Mold Of Classic Nerd

OK.... I'm going to try to tell this story as accurately as I heard it yesterday on 'Quinn in The Morning' in Pittsburgh.

As I remember.........a few years ago Alito was working somewhere as a judge (I think) and some big Democrat had a new office in a building nearby and had decided to get a couple of those ostentatious, large concrete or marble lions put outside his office ............ one on each side of the door at the entrance.

Alito, along with everyone else, thought the sculptures were way over the top in "degree of pomposity". So...... he asked a couple of his staff to go out on the town and try to find him a couple of those PINK FLAMINGOES you put in your yard............ he then put them outside the entrance to his office for a few laughs. It supposedly was a riot!

I'll take the nerd any time!

A Phillies fan! I knew he couldn't be all bad!

(Maybe it helps him with Arlen Specter).

Let's see. Is this the worst thing Dana Milbank can say about Alito? That he coaches Little League baseball and takes his duties to the kids seriously? That he has enough politeness to shake hands with a Democrat, and is somewhat confused for a moment when the Democrat refuses to shake hands with him?

Sounds pretty refreshing to me. What, no Yuppie Self Importance? Good.

Wow, is the left really that desperate? It can't think of anything else to attack him with, so it goes out and calls him a nerd.

Alito does seems well...nerdy.

But that's fine with me, introverts are good people, especially Italian introverts.

This news writer used the words "bespectacled, dweeb, wonk, nerd, geek, Bobblehead, misfit, dork." in describing Alito.
The news writer is on the left.
It is the left that crows and preaches about tolerance, sexism, lookism. Milbank is showing his intolerance.
This writer (milbankd@washpost.com) has lost any credibility.
I suggest that you tell him so.

Alito is the kind of guy Antonin Scalia would have beat up in school. So much for the "Scalito" nickname.
