It's not personal. It's just an observation. You find fault with everyone except the abortionmonger. Or did I miss that condemnation?

The teacher may be popular with students but advocating abortion makes one UNpopular in my book.

Bain is gone and rightfully so. This thread is about what, if anything, the bishop can do to reinstate the student.

Do you have a comment on that?

She should be reinstated immediately. She's right.

"they are subject in their internal affairs directly to the Holy See and not to the local bishop."

Probably good news for the family. The Vatican has deeper pockets than the local Bishop. I wonder how well the Order is able to respond to judgment.

The Holy See refers to the Pope.

The Bishop ought to nominate her as a Saint

. . . or something that gives her similarly substantial credit and reverence for giving him the evidence on the abortion-escorting teacher.

In fairness to Bishop Weigand, he has been a very strong voice for Catholic doctrine. In particular, he has challenged publicly Catholic politicians who support abortion rights.

She sure has the gutsiness that many of the young female saints exhibited. They were not afraid to go up against superiors--bishops, priests, chancellors, etc.--when they knew (by the inspiration of the Holy Spirirt) that they were right.

St. Bernadette of Lourdes; St. Joan of Arc; St. Teresa of Avila, etc.

If memory serves, the bishop can remove the charter which allows the order to run a school in his diocese. Any church administration experts here?

Dear sinkspur,

Perhaps the bishop might bar this "order" of sisters from his diocese. This would likely result in the closing of this allegedly Catholic school. If, indeed, this piece of dirt teacher was quite popular with the school and its administration, then perhaps that might be the best thing.

Student expelled from Catholic School...for being Catholic.

Unbelievable, isn't it? Expelled, not even suspended!, for being the wrong kind of Catholic. For being pro-life and traditional, not new agey and 'tolerant'.

He could certainly do that.

If he does that now, then lots of innocent students would likely have to go to public schools.

Which is why I don't think he's going to expel the order any time soon.

Can you believe that they can't intervene! Not can't, but won't. Sheesh. I suppose if Katelyn had gone with the drama teacher to the clinic to be another 'friendly face', well, she'd be getting some kind of citizenship or service award. We're through the looking glass.

Dear sinkspur,

The students forced out of this "Catholic" pro-butchery brothel would at least honestly know that what they are up against in the public schools, rather than be taught Satan's works under the guise of Catholic education in this one.

It may be that our friend, Pope Benedict, may agree with this method, to force the closure of this pseudo-Catholic school run by pro-abort pigs masquerading as Catholic sisters:

The Bishop is a wimp. Where there's a will, there's a way.

The bishop is NOT a wimp. Because Kaitlyn's mother brought to his attention the fact that a teacher at that school was volunteering at an abortion clinic the bishop ordered the school administration to fire the teacher immediately.

He used the authority granted him by canon law to act to protect the faith and morals within his diocese, even though the school is independent. That authority does not extend to the schools admission policies. Although were I in the bishop's shoes that school would become the subject of my VERY close scrutiny from now on and Sister Barbara and Sister Timothy would regret the day that they decided to persecute a Catholic family for being Catholic!
