The bishop could revoke the order's right to operate any "Catholic" educational activities within the diocese on the grounds of posing a danger to the faith and well-being of Catholic children.

He could, but he won't. The order likely owns the plant and land, so nobody else could walk in and take over the school. Diocesan high schools couldn't absorb the students if the order was expelled.

This may not be the first run-in this school has had with Ms. Sills.

I think, however, she is also an idealist who wants to help root out corruption in the Church. That's a large order for a young girl, but if the Church is to recover from its present doldrums it will be an idealistic and dedicated younger generation that must do it.

The 15 year-old is the "face" of this incident.

Mama's the one who forced the issue with the bishop.

Lost in all of this discussion is the fact that the teacher in question is a maniac who takes an active role in the slaughter of innocent babies in her spare time when she is not busy "teaching".

She was an active participant in the murders of more human beings than the beltway sniper, son of sam, and Ted Bundy combined.

"denominationalism"

Ya, life's better when each induhvidual is their own pope....
Cuz, ya know the Holy Spirit guides each of us in a different direction....thus, avoiding all of the pitfalls of "denominationalism".

I'm goint to go out on a limb and guess, the pro-abortion nuns, although forced to fire one of their own, got a little revenge. Also, they may have been worried that the family would expose more pro-abortion activity.

Just my speculation.

Should not come as too much of a shock. Many of the religious orders are very defient against Catholic teaching. After the seminaries are cleaned up I hope religious orders follow.

YOU WON'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY

Maybe you'll make specially-tailored concrete shoes for them?

Every Catholic in this school needs to withdraw in support of their classmate and the true lesson she taught.

To be fair on the bishop, he has acted strongly in several instances. This is one of his diocesan stooges speaking. Hopefully the bishop has been notified what is going on, and will deal with it.

"they are subject in their internal affairs directly to the Holy See and not to the local bishop."

Sounds like a few hundred letters to the Holy See are in order. I will also suggest to Bishop Weigand that he make a similar petition with the added weight his would carry.

I, like most of freepers assumed that the Church school was automatically at fault. But as details are slowly emerging, there ARE two sides to this tale, and the girl and her parents along with their LAWYER are being very secretive in what they did to incur the expulsion.

It seems that at the base of all evil in this country, you will find a LAWYER at the root of it all!

And how childish of you to turn this into something personal.

Argue the points, petronski. If you can.

Oh, I don't think it's lost. The bishop earned considerable praise on earlier threads for insisting that this teacher should be fired.

Also, I think the young lady has two issues here. One is whether she should be reinstated in the school as a matter of justice. The other is whether the school will answer to her idealism in defense of life and start doing some serious self-examination.
