"The Call to Drive Out the Bush Regime has been signed by world-renowned artists and public figures including Harold Pinter, Jane Fonda, Kurt Vonnegut, Alice Walker, Eve Ensler, Gore Vidal, Richard Serra, Cindy Sheehan, Howard Zinn, Michael Eric Dyson, Russell Banks and Cornel West. The list continues to grow. "
Pinter--doesn't he do plays or something?
Fonda--traitor. Nuff said.
Vonnegut--hasn't written a good book since "Sirens of Titan."
Walker--An Oprah book does not an intellectual make.
Vidal--He's a distant relative. Enough reason not to trust him.
Sheehan--I'm sorry you lost your mind as well as your son. You never seemed to have common sense or a defined set of morals.
Serra, Zinn, Dyson, Banks, West... Are these celebrities? What have they done to make me listen to them?

"We are asking for students to quit school and throw down with something that will matter."
Yeah, like lining the pockets of a fringe group and being part of a photo-op, or something equally high-minded.
I say, why stop at a day. Hell, take the rest of your life off and stay out of my office! Stay out of my class and stay out of my neighborhood! You probably weren't missed during this little exercise. I'm sure society can survive without you petty babies. Better yet, stage a protest march in Afghanistan or Iraq!

What a shameful group of hatemongering fools, to align themselves with these violent, ignorant, socialist, creepy liars.
Their pathetic propaganda is proof that stupidity can be contagious.

I guess these are the same people who, during Clinton's impeachment, cried that the will of the people was being denied since he had been popularly elected. Democracy is a pillar of socialism, but only when it can be controlled by the elites.

Sorry about my rather strongly worded posts ( 67 & 68) but I am really tired of these idiots that somehow think THYE have the power to overturn the will of the AMERICAN people to elect thier own leaders.

Okay, I see. To the left, elections are only valid when they win.
To: RonDog
I'm gonna spur a movement against them.

You are right on the money! As far as I'm concerned, everyone who "walks out" should stay out.
Their idea of doing away with the presidential election at their personal whim is right in line with their view of the Constitution, forget amendments or due process, just change it when it suits them. The rule of men as opposed to rule of law is the essence of socialism.
It's a wonder to me that they can purposely do things that amount to attacks on significant numbers, even majorities, of Americans. However, it does show you what they think of us.

Your passion for the subject is well taken. I think, however, you used too strong of language when you called them "MORANS" in Post 68. It would have been better if you called them for what they are,
mutant zombies out of the Dawn of the Dead. (I think I have a few sarcasm buttons stuck on "on" when I write this).
Imagine if you would for just one second that the dead really are rising for some unknown reason and preying on the living. Having taken this one step you have entered a nightmarish world. . . When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.

which will stage a national walkout on Nov. 2, the anniversary of Bush's reelection.Face west, then start walking. When you arrive at the Pacific ocean, keep walking.
