. SAN FRANCISCO Federico Garcia wants Nov. 2 to be the beginning of the end for the Bush Administration. Garcia, 28, is a local student organizer for the group "The World Can't Wait - Drive Out The Bush Regime," which will stage a national walkout on Nov. 2, the anniversary of Bush's reelection. The organizers said they want the event to be a public statement that some Americans are fed up with President Bush and that he should step down as commander-in-chief. The organizers are asking people of all ages to call in sick to work or skip a day of school to take part in what they said is not just another protest. "We do not want three more years of this," said Garcia, who is organizing Bay Area college students from such schools as the University of California, Berkeley and San Francisco State University. "This will give birth to a new movement. We speak for the sentimental millions," Garcia said. "We are asking for students to quit school and throw down with something that will matter." Garcia said after Bush was reelected many people who opposed the president felt demoralized and then demobilized. But Sunsara Taylor, a co-founder of the group, said she would not just sit still and passively disapprove as the president moves the United States toward what she called a "fascist society." Taylor said Bush was an illegitimate president and a dangerous man. "It is not just a symbolic act. We mean it," Taylor said of the walkout. "I think it's highly realistic to see him step down. I think it's less realistic to be able to negotiate with them." Taylor said around 67 cities and 40 college campuses would take part in the walkout. Locally, UC Berkeley and San Francisco State will be meeting grounds for those who want to take part in the event. After a short meeting starting at 10 a.m. at each campus, demonstrators will move to the main noon-time rally at Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco.Organizers of mass walkout hope to spur movement against Bush

Your government, on the basis of outrageous lies, is waging a murderous and utterly illegitimate war in Iraq, with other countries in their sights.Your government is openly torturing people, and justifying it.
Your government puts people in jail on the merest suspicion, refusing them lawyers, and either holding them indefinitely or deporting them in the dead of night.
Your government is moving each day closer to a theocracy, where a narrow and hateful brand of Christian fundamentalism will rule.
Your government suppresses the science that doesnt fit its religious, political and economic agenda, forcing present and future generations to pay a terrible price.
Your government is moving to deny women here, and all over the world, the right to birth control and abortion.
Your government enforces a culture of greed, bigotry, intolerance and ignorance.
People look at all this and think of Hitler and they are right to do so. The Bush regime is setting out to radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come. We must act now; the future is in the balance.
Millions and millions are deeply disturbed and outraged by this. They recognize the need for a vehicle to express this outrage, yet they cannot find it; politics as usual cannot meet the enormity of the challenge, and people sense this.
There is not going to be some magical pendulum swing. People who steal elections and believe theyre on a mission from God will not go without a fight.
There is not going to be some savior from the Democratic Party. This whole idea of putting our hopes and energies into leaders who tell us to seek common ground with fascists and religious fanatics is proving every day to be a disaster, and actually serves to demobilize people.
But silence and paralysis are NOT acceptable. That which you will not resist and mobilize to stop, you will learn or be forced to accept. There is no escaping it: the whole disastrous course of this Bush regime must be STOPPED. And we must take the responsibility to do it.
And there is a way. We are talking about something on a scale that can really make a huge change in this country and in the world. We need more than fighting Bushs outrages one at a time, constantly losing ground to the whole onslaught. We must, and can, aim to create a political situation where the Bush regimes program is repudiated, where Bush himself is driven from office, and where the whole direction he has been taking society is reversed. We, in our millions, must and can take responsibility to change the course of history.
To that end, on November 2, the first anniversary of Bushs re-election, we will take the first major step in this by organizing a truly massive day of resistance all over this country. People everywhere will walk out of school, they will take off work, they will come to the downtowns and town squares and set out from there, going through the streets and calling on many more to JOIN US. They will repudiate this criminal regime, making a powerful statement: NO! THIS REGIME DOES NOT REPRESENT US! AND WE WILL DRIVE IT OUT!
November 2 must be a massive and public proclamation that WE REFUSE TO BE RULED IN THIS WAY. November 2 must call out to the tens of millions more who are now agonizing and disgusted. November 2 will be the beginning a giant first step in forcing Bush to step down, and a powerful announcement that we will not stop until he does so and it will join with and give support and heart to people all over the globe who so urgently need and want this regime to be stopped.
This will not be easy. If we speak the truth, they will try to silence us. If we act, they will try to stop us. But we speak for the majority, here and around the world, and as we get this going we are going to reach out to the people who have been so badly fooled by Bush and we are NOT going to stop.
The point is this: history is full of examples where people who had right on their side fought against tremendous odds and were victorious. And it is also full of examples of people passively hoping to wait it out, only to get swallowed up by a horror beyond what they ever imagined. The future is unwritten. WHICH ONE WE GET IS UP TO US.
These next two months are crucial. The call you are reading has to get out to millions right away on the internet, passed out as flyers in communities, published as ads in newspapers. DO NOT WAIT!! GET ORGANIZED!! If you agree with this statement, add your name to it!!! And do more than that: send it to friends, get them to sign it, organize a meeting, take it to your church, your school, your union, your health club, your barber shop, to concerts and libraries and family gatherings, everywhere you go. Raise money, lots of money. Get people together, make plans to be there on November 2, and to build for it. GET IN TOUCH WITH US AT OUR WEBSITE, worldcantwait.org

The Left is throwing another temper tantrum. Of all the methods to effect change, protests are the least & only reveal how much influence you lack.
Wish we could get them to all move to Iran...
They are absurd!
Wow. They really do want decades of GOP leaders, don't they.
Rush always said it will get really looney when the Left loses power. This is the way it is shaping up.
Rush said yesterday that the NAGS got all of 20 protestors to show up in DC to go against the Alito nomination.
Wow...is Soros running out of funds? LOL

BATTLE TO DRIVE OUT THE BUSH REGIME INTENSIFIES,
180 ACTIONS SET FOR NOVEMBER 2nd
October 31, 2005
For Immediate Release
Contact: Connie Julian, 917-449-9064On November 2, in 67 cities, 43 colleges and universities, and 90 high schools (at last count), there will be walk-outs and demonstrations-- mass public outpourings launching a new movement with a single, practical objective: to drive out the Bush regime.
The Miers withdrawal, Libby's indictment, US torture policy, the ongoing bloodbath in Iraq, Bush's nomination of extreme-right wing Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. ("Scalito") to the Supreme Court - these rapidly cascading developments make clear that this regime is determined to "radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come," as the World Can't Wait Call says.
"There's NEVER been a regime like this in the U.S, and World Can't Wait is also unprecedented: a movement aimed at driving out a sitting president and his whole program through a massive popular movement," Sunsara Taylor, an initiator of World Can't Wait, said Monday.
Battles are brewing in New York City, Los Angeles and other cities over high school walk-outs that day. Then on Monday, Hot 97, the NYC urban radio station, backed out of an agreement to run a paid ad for November 2, created by Boots Riley of The Coup. To hear the ad:

Mumia - you suckPosted on the wrong thread. I wonder if the cops in the target cities know a convicted cop killer is one of the ringleaders.

Don't they realize that if they drive Bush out Cheney becomes president?
Protesting by walking off the job, or out of a college class will have zero effect...that is it will earn you zero dollars for the day, and if you are in college and happen to have a test on that day, guess it will earn you a zero on that. Politically it will also yield zero effect.
(IMHHO, Walk-outs are equivalent to toddler temper tantrums.)
Hey, how did that whole "Not One More Dime Day" work out? That was, um, when? I can't seem to remember.
Taking positions in the "count" poll.
My position?
Total participants will be underwhelming.
The GDP, if you could track it for a single day, will go up.
Dubya's polling numbers go up this week.
Oh PLEASE DO. And take all those "academics", "professors", and other assorted "intellectuals" with you. Save us taxpayers one hell of alot of money.
Talk about stupid and childish (for the planners of this event). I guess the little darlin's will be stuck in detention for the walk out? If I was the principle I think I would have them write the constitution 100 times for starters.
Sheesh.....Why can't they schedule these things so folks can get a 3 day weekend...Oh, wait, these retards do not work......
I agree COMMIES SUCK. Maybe the world can't wait though I'm with President Bush. He is a LEADER and is getting more of those Senators and Representatives busy than even they believe. God Bless America, President Bush and All who have worn and will wear uniforms to protect HER.
