The Dems just blew their shot, and it was way short of target. They'll do *anything* to change the lead story of the day. Anything.
BTW if your tagline refers to the Klamath Falls Bucket Brigade ... I was there too ... I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jeff Head while I was there ...
Amen Brother Jim!
(Though it may take another decade to convince them.)
"May they forever remain in the minority.
Registered Democrats-nationwide: 63 million
Registered Republicans-nationwide: 47 million"
It's a wonder, with all the constant news reporting, public education, university pacifists and new age anything-goes folk that Republicans are within 16 mm.
I grew up on Eric Severeid and Walter Cronkite, David Huntley and Chet Brinkley. I even remember Murrow, although vaguely. My nightly news and the Idea of America came from my parents, my teachers and them.
Now I know that some of these same news icons are socialists, that Cronkite himself single-handedly helped destroy public morale in Vietnam; we left those people high and dry to die like dogs under the Communists, even though we had won every major battle in the field, sometimes brilliantly. Now I know that no single media person is good for anything except a laugh.
Now I recognize that the socialist spew I received from day one in my collegiate years was supposed to indoctrinate me into the fold, that I was supposed to take up academic arms against the industrial establishment as planned, and dedicate myself and my unique interests to its total demise. Hence was I taught Marxist theory, and, to teach Marxist theory to my fellows as a requirement for my grades.
Now I know a sitting President can sell our nuclear crown jewels to our avowed enemies and sell out our military with only a slap on the wrist of an impeachment over sexual relations with a subordinate.
I used to look down my nose at the hill folk I met, thinking them real hicks and backward. What is coming for this country has taught me that only their tight lipped suspicion keeps the internal enemies of the United States at bey.
"they desire power over all else"
Bears repeating. They'll do anything to get it.
Sorry. The Democrats are only in minority until 2006. The 'Pubbies have surely $crewed the pooch as far as the conservative base is concerned - outrageous spending, PC warfare, Pres. Bush's idiotic first choice for the SCOTUS... it keeps addin' up and makes some of us wonder if there are any differences between the parties.
The Marxist Democrat Party gives "corrupt, treasonous, America-hating criminal enterprises" a bad name.
At the moment they seem to be correct in their assumption.
It started with the unfathomable decision by this White House to agree with their lying leftist socialist crook critics that that there were no WMD in Iraq (because we were not able to find any).
I still can't get past the stupidity of that strategy.
The GOP had better catch on quick or W and company may next find themselves listening to calls for their impeachment.
The rats will stop at nothing and utilize the big lie in a fashion that would make Goebbels blush.
I usually think of them as two groups.
There are the Marxists, who actually believe that after 100,000,000 dead they just need to fine tune the thing a bit and it will bring utopia instead of mass murder. These are the drug taking college sophomores, the Moveon/Answer type groups, and the aging hippie "revolutionaries".
Then are there are the purely corrupt opportunists. In this group I put the Clinton gang, and most of the congressional Democrats. They don't really believe most of the nonsense they spout. How could they? But it brings them money and power.
No doubt there is overlap between the groups, with greedy Marxists and delusionally idealogical opportunists galore. In any case, most of them do share one thing, in my opinion: a kind of mental illness characterized by hatred of authority.
Just my two cents!
Break the rules; don't go out.
They are frustrated, angry and desperate for a win. They wont get one, as long at the media keeps putting their angry stupid faces on TV.
LOL! pretty well put.
IMO that is an appropriate response to these shenanigans. In fact, most of these so-called rules should be thrown out. If they aren't outright Unconstitutional the are at the least Extra-Constitutional.
I see that some people are saying that the Republicans should not fight back against the lies the left is telling about the war, the president, and our military.
It is UNCONSCIONABLE that the Senators and administration don't take the left to task by using the Democrat's OWN words against them.
It is a false argument when posters say we shouldn't get into the gutter with the Democrats. We don't have to get in the gutter. A simple commercial or press conference would go far to letting the military know we support them and would garner more support for the war.
We've seen support for the war wane substantially these last few months, so I will remind freepers that the laid back spineless attitude of the Republican Senators has NOT worked.
It would be relatively easy to remind the left, when they claim the president lied his way into war about WMD and Iraq's ties with AQ of the following:
1. Remind the left that every single Democrat of note said in 1998 that Iraq's WMD posed a danger to the United States.

2. Remind the left that Clinton's Justice Department obtained a federal indictment of Osama bin Laden which stated that AQ had a deal with Iraq. They agreed not to attack Iraq in exchange for weapons development.

Funny how in the 90's the world was concerned about the growing relationship between OBL and Saddam and now the left is revising history.

um.... not. Your defeatist, puerile attitude doesn't ring true with real USA events. I BEG the 'rats to bring the pre-war intel to the front, so that EVERYONE is exposed. Just wondering, does dragging your knuckles hurt? Mine wrap around a M1911.
Deep breaths now, innnnnnnnnn....ouuuuuuuuuuuuuut
Repeat.
