I half watched Barbara Boxer being interviewed on FOX. anchor Bridget let her get away with far, far too much uninterrupted spit and spin.
But one thing to notice: Boxer had to spend much of her airtime explaining away why Lautenberg was for, now he's against, Alito. I wondered....why isn't Lautenberg on himself? Is he just too old and unreliable to explain away his own political flip flops? Is Boxer the designated liar du jour?
You know Boxer is on the defensive when she had to explain she wasn't in congress when Alito was last confirmed in 91. She didn't get there till 93, she said. Then she went on and on trying to explain away why Lautenberg supported him then but doesn't now.
(It could be Lautenberg is in some undisclosed location, learning his new lines.)
But you know what? People aren't stoopid! They know the democrats started preparing their Alito smear way before President Bush announced his name. People know Boxer and Kennedy and Schumer are "out there" spewing nothing but venom.
So sick of the "it its a moderate seat" BS argument. ACLU Ginsburg replaced Justice White, a Conservative, and the Libs had no problem moving the court to the left.
Gotta disagree, my good friend, with your take on Bridget..she has a "soft" style of interviewing..which usually results in guests ramblig comfortably, and often saying stuff they wouldn't otherwise blab..like this gem..BTW..more and more the Dems are coming on FOX...they don't always get the warm welcome like at CNN and MSNBC, but they do get eyeballs..
It could be that Lautenberg is in a home, being fed strained carrots and having his diaper changed.
