Until the press learns to report the news
instead of being the news

To place opinion in it's place and properly labeled
The editorial page

A increasing number of thoughtful individuals
will cease to care what they say

I agree w both of you. I only get the Sunday paper (and haven't looked at that in some time). They call periodically and want to give me free daily papers for 13 weeks, or whatever. I did that once. Now when they call, I tell them that I appreciate and understand that they're just doing their job, but I would appreciate it if they would make a note and pass along the fact that the reason I don't want even a free paper is that they don't report the facts, stretch the truth, and are 1-sided politically.

I was listening to Rush on the way to work this a.m. and he said that Americans were more positive (per a poll). It was felt that the reason for this is because people are reading less newspapers and watching less news (on the alphabet channels).
