"grave concern"

I guess that means their beliefs are dead.

A bit touchy there, I guess.

One can be fully for and a staunch supporter on a side of an issue without being an extremit. It is the extremists that give any cause a bad name.

I agree. The issues are that most of the prevalent cases of extremism are occurring from the hysterical left, who delight in drawing analogies between Bush & Hitler, drawing comparisons between our troops and Nazis-Stalins gulags-Pol Pots killing fields, throwing out insults such as LIAR, LOSER, EVIL, CULTURE OF CORRUPTION, trumped up indictment charges against Delay and Libby, etc. Lets remember that most of the extremist examples & abuses are from the liberal, left-wing socialists! You don't get kudos or brownie points from the radical left-wing or liberals for being magnaminous - they only despise you for appearing to be weak and conciliatory. Just like they despise & revile President Bush when he tries to reach out or appease the DimWits.

I understand what your are saying, and am mostly in agreement with you. However, I have spent more than 20 years dealing on the state and local level and have learned (the hard way) that the letter R or D next to the dash next to the name doesn't mean a hill of beans.

There is a piece of legislation that keeps rearing it's head in the Delaware legislature to add "sexual orientation" to the race/religion/gender discrimination statute. It keeps coming up and passed in the Republican controlled House.............and continues to die in the Democrat Senate.

There have been numerous calls from the right wing extremists to get rid of the guy proposing this and numerous calls from the left wing extremists to get rid of the one that keeps the measure dead.

I guess it all boils down to how different people look at things.

Excellent news. PFLAG is a nefarious group of enablers and sycophants.

I think we agree on the issues of extremism, except that I firmly believe that 90% or better of the extremism is from the left, not the right. I think it plays into the hands of the liberal, left-wing when we acquiesce to their devious ploy of condemning extremism on both sides. Mainly because THEY DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THEIR VIEWS ARE EXTREMIST, NO MATTER HOW RADICAL! Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Clinton's ACLU appointee to the SC believes in 100% unfettered access to abortion at all times...zero parental consent laws and certainly zero partial birth abortion guidelines. She believes in lowering the sexual consent laws to 12 yo, complete embracing of homosexuality as the legal law of the land, polygamy rights, governmental rights to take your property at any time, removing ALL male-female references in all governmental historical documents & publications, etc. And the liberals, left-wingers maintain that her views are mainstream and any views to the right are extremist. So you play into their hands when you fall for their unjustified argument that there are extremists on both sides. 90% or better of the extremism comes from the left, make no mistake about it.

Regarding the example of hate crime legislation, you are right, it is extremely unfortunate that Delaware Republican RINOS seek to appease the radical left & homosexual agenda by including hate crime legislation while the Delaware Democrats seek to remove it. Shame on the cowardly RINOS. That's why I hate Rat B@$t@#d RINOs as much as I do Rat B@$t@#d DemonRATS, and I only contribute to specific candidates rather than the state or national GOP party, so that my contributions won't be parsed out to RINOs.

At the federal level, in the Congressional House of Reps, a similar bill was recently passed with support of some 30 Rat B@$t@#d RINOs, with hate crime legislation in it. The Republican Senate judicial committee has removed the language from the bill when it was passed to the Senate(amazingly enough) but Ted Kennedy (DimWIT) is trying to sneak the hate-crime legislation language into other unrelated bills. Let's hope the Republican senators don't cave in, and if they do, hopefully President Bush would finally exercise his veto pen for the first time.

Finally here is an excellent post from Michelle Maulkin regarding the extremist examples on the left compared to the relatively few on the right.

"Critics will argue that these fine folks do not represent mainstream liberalism and that Republicans are just as bad. But as I note in the book: It’s not Republicans taking chainsaws to Democrat campaign signs and running down political opponents with their cars. It’s not conservatives burning Democrats in effigy, defacing war memorials, and supporting the fragging of American troops. And it’s not conservatives producing a bullet-riddled bumper crop of assassination-themed musicals, books and collectible stamps. It’s not a Republican who invoked Pol Pot and Nazis and Soviet gulag operators when discussing American troops at Guantanamo Bay. That was Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, who kept his Senate Minority Whip position and who continues to blame an “orchestrated right-wing attack” for what came out of his mouth. It’s not Republicans who suggested that President Bush had advance knowledge of the September 11th attacks or that Osama bin Laden has already been captured. Those notions were advanced by former Secretary of State Madeline Albright and current Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean. And it wasn’t a Republican who asserted that the war Iraq was “just as bad as six million Jews being killed.” That was Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel, who has refused to apologize and whom no Democrat leader has denounced. The views of unhinged liberals are no longer relegated to the private remarks of a few Democrat politicians or the bloviations of a few fringe figures on the far Left. The syndrome is far more pervasive, intense, and sanctimoniously self-delusional than anything on the Right. To see just how deeply this unhinged disease has infected the entire party leadership and its liberal body politic, you'll have to buy the book."

All well and good - it still doesn't change my position that etremists, on any side of any issue, give that side a bad name.
