Come on, be nice. I have met him a few times. He is a nice guy with some misguided notions and values.

I've alway given him a break and often thought he was being treated poorly.

Unfortunately, on this trip to the US all I've heard so far is that he disagrees with everything American.

An historian I once heard said that it is important to remember that the British once ruled half the world & they didn't get there by being pansies. He said we shouldn't let the veneer of manners fool us about the character beneath. Historically, the aristocracy were all warriors -- the Royals were the meanest of the mean.

While things have changed a lot since then, many of those warrior values remain in the Royals. Diana tried to redefine the Monarchy as a sort of Paris Hilton celebrity role. The media loved it; but the rest of the Royal family hated it -- especially when she went on her whine-fest on daytime tv.
