Geesh, in comparison to Rhenquist, almost anyone would move the court to the left. Rhenquist is probably the most solid conservative on the court due to his longevity.
Just pure common sense would show that the odds are that a stealth candidate like Roberts probably is not as conservative as Rhenquist was. Especially since Bush originally lined up Roberts for O'Conner's spot.
Why is that so hard to grasp? I'm not arguing some stupid conspiracy theory or communist plot. I'm just pointing out political realities.
There's a certain contingent around here that almost reflexively screeches "Tin Foil Alert!" in response any facts presented to them that are inconvenient to their own preconceived notions, especially preconceived notions about Bush.
