I served one 12 month tour in Vietnam plus an additional eight months off the coast and agree with your father. No comparison.

So far I haven't heard of anyone who was in Vietnam who said "Whew, boy I'm glad I didn't get called to Iraq". I have read an article that outlined ova dozen Army and Marine personnel, troops, helicopter pilots, etc, who were in Vietnam, and are now in Iraq, and ALL OF THEM clearly said that Iraq is a MUCH better place to be at any time, than Vietnam was at any time of the war. Hands down, no exceptions. The media can't be honest about that, because then no one who watches them would then be able to go out and parrot them to be against the war in Iraq. If every war goes as "bad" as Iraq is supposedly going, we'll never lose a war again.
