It has crossed my mind several times that the Miers nomination might have been a "head fake." People will object that Bush would never do such a thing to a friend. That's true; he wouldn't...but...what if Miers was in on the plan?

I've been thinking exactly the same thing ... W could've definitely been "gaming" with this, and Miers is a close enough an associate that she would've played her scripted part to bring out all the rattlesnakes and skunks to show their stripes ... ya never know with W .. chess, not checkers = strategery.

If Bush and Miers were playing a game, I think the game would have been to rally the troops to take on the red state RINO's and Democrats in the senate.
