I think Mr. Wilson did a great sevice to our country by exposing the false claims made by the Bush administration during the lead up to war. I would think that conservatives would rally around someone with the courage to do just that, just as they did when Linda Tripp became a hero for her exposure of Mr. Clinton's lies. The double standard that so-called conservatives display on this forum is incredible.

If this stands it means that two people, who in this case, are a desk worker and a former minor level diplomat can establish a shadow government of sorts without any repudiation or responsibility.

Today's Washington Post has a ridiculous puff-piece on Val this morning. They mention her "post partum depression support group" three times (her kids are 5 years old now), use the word "devastated" twice, etc etc.

divulging a secret that had been known only to me, her parents and her brother.

She obviously WASN'T a covert CIA agent if her parents, brother, and Joe Wilson knew.

I sent this letter to the L.A. Times

RE: 'Our 27 months of hell'

Dear Editor:

Joe Wilson brought on his own 'hell' when he lied to the American public in a book ironically titled "The Politics of Truth" then made his wife a partner in his shameless buffoonery by appearing with her on the cover of a fashion magazine.

Is it any wonder Central Intelligence is a mess? With poseurs like Wilson and agents like Valerie Plame--whose WMD control cell targeted the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade for bombing--who needs foreign enemies?

These people deserve literal hell.

But on July 14, 2003, our lives were irrevocably changed. That was the day columnist Robert Novak identified Valerie as an operative, divulging a secret that had been known only to me, her parents and her brother.

Was she on leave, and for how long, during her "severe bout with postpartum depression?"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/28/AR2005102801172.html

EXCERPTS

Plame, the mother of 5-year-old twins, recently told a friend, Jane Honikman, that she intends to retire from the agency where she has worked for 20 years. "She really wants to be with her kids -- that's her plan, to be that mom," said Honikman, founder of a postpartum depression support network in which Plame has been active.

(snip)

"She's going to be a huge asset no matter what she does," said Plame's friend Honikman, founder of Postpartum Support International, a group the CIA officer contacted for help in overcoming her own severe bout with postpartum depression. "She's too smart a woman . . . and would maximize whatever opportunities lie ahead."

She was so concerned about her 'cover' that she had no objection to having her mug plastered in Vanity Fair at least twice, if I'm not mistaken.

Although there were suggestions that she was behind the decision to send me to Niger, the CIA told Newsday just a week after the Novak article appeared that "she did not recommend her husband to undertake the Niger assignment." The CIA repeated the same statement to every reporter thereafter.

July 2004 by a unanimous Senate Intelligence Committee report. The report said Wilson's wife "suggested his name for the trip." It cited an internal CIA memo from her saying "my husband has good relations" with officials in Niger and "lots of French contacts," adding they "could possibly shed light on this sort of activity." A State Department analyst told the committee that Mrs. Wilson "had the idea" of sending Wilson to Africa.

The grand jury has now concluded that at least one of the president's men committed crimes.

It sure as hell wasn't "outing a covert CIA operative" which would be your creepy wife who is married to a lying POS.

GO AWAY, JOE! Your fifteen minutes are up already.
